Autumn/winter collections attract millions of fashion lovers into Manhattan every February. These industry influencers capture New York Fashion from angles not yet accessible to the common consumer and have become the go-tos for fashion advice and inspiration. This February, once such fashionista journeyed from Dallas, Texas to partake in a fashion week agenda as jam-packed as the preppy attire in her suitcase.
As a full-time marketing specialist, her colleagues call her Devoreaux A. Walton. But to the several followers to her fashion blog, she is known as the The Prep Pursuit. The Southern Belle gave me an inside glimpse into her world—13 hours and counting of fashion shows, presentations, and networking.
Check out my chic crossover into a day in the life of a New York Fashion Week blogger below.
Part I: Morning Tea
Peek open Devereaux’s closet as she gets dressed for a long day ahead.
Part II: Lights, Camera, Action!
Taxis, Ubers, and subway trains rush the blogger to her fashion week destinations while models saunter down runways and in some cases, stand perfectly still like figurines. Devereaux does have her occasional pit stops for Starbucks, brunch, and the quick charge of her phone. But she never forgets what she came to New York for—the opportunity to meet designers and network with other fashion media professionals. Some she’s met before. Others interview her on how the silhouettes, embellishments, and designs on the runway measure up in her preppy eyes.
